Structure-property relationships of cis-resveratrol cyanate ester blends

چکیده
cis-ResCy is a relatively low melting cyanate ester monomer (<80 °C) derived from the renewable phenol, resveratrol. Thermal cross-linking of this material generates high Tg polycyanurate network with char yield >73% in air (600 °C). However, still presents processing challenges because it solid at room temperature and readily recrystallizes upon cooling below point. In study, was blended commercial resins (Primaset LeCy, PT15, PT30) loadings between 0 80% (by mass) to improve processability evaluate structure-property relationships blends corresponding networks. Blends LeCy were solids, while PT15 PT30 remained liquid after mixing. The cure chemistry evaluated thermomechanical properties, thermal stability, moisture uptake, hot/wet properties networks studied. general, yields increased higher loading. This result most pronounced for networks, which yielded much (>70% air) ≥ 40% loading compared pure (<40% air). Tgs increasing content reached temperatures as 391 °C in-situ cure. Overall, combination various esters allowed development processable Tgs, improved lower uptake than components.

This contribution addresses the relationships between the structure and gas transport properties of nanoporous thermostable cyanate ester resins (CERs) derived from polycyclotrimerization of 1,1'-bis(4-cyanatophenyl)ethane in the presence of 30 or 50 wt% of inert high-boiling temperature porogens (i.e., dimethyl- or dibutyl phthalates), followed by their quantitative removal. The nanopores in t...
متن کاملMechanical Behaviour of Cyanate Ester/epoxy Blends after Reactor Irradiation to High Neutron Fluences
The mechanical strength of conventional epoxy resins drops dramatically after irradiation to a fast neutron fluence of 1x10 m (E>0.1 MeV). Recent results demonstrated that cyanate ester / epoxy blends were not affected at this fluence level. The aim of this study is to investigate the performance potential of these blends at higher fluence levels without significant degradation of their mechani...

Polymeric gels belong to the most important class of functional polymers in modern biotechnology. They are useful materials for drug delivery systems, artificial organs, separation operations in biotechnology, processing of agricultural products, on–off switches, sensors, and actuators. Despite this fact and considerable research in this field, the design and control of gel-based devices still ...
متن کاملStructure Property Relationships of Carboxylic Acid Isosteres
The replacement of a carboxylic acid with a surrogate structure, or (bio)-isostere, is a classical strategy in medicinal chemistry. The general underlying principle is that by maintaining the features of the carboxylic acid critical for biological activity, but appropriately modifying the physicochemical properties, improved analogs may result. In this context, a systematic assessment of the ph...
